Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems division, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high quality, presentation and display products, has introduced the new EW230U-ST, a short throw WXGA projector specifically designed for today’s modern classrooms and meeting rooms.
Compatible with widescreen input sources the EW230U-ST utilises 1280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution, enabling a display area 1.3 times larger than a conventional XGA projector. Fully integrated, this projector comes equipped with an ultra-powerful short-throw lens that can project a 60” diagonal image from a distance of just 63cm (25”) from the display screen. Such features make the EW230U-ST ideal for small space presentation environments and accommodate the shift towards wide-screen computers
Benefiting from a high brightness of 2500 lumens and high contrast ratio of 2000:1 the EW230U-ST provides vivid, detailed images. BrilliantColour™ technology enhances the vibrancy of the display and Wall Screen functionality allows users to select a specific colour surface which automatically changes the projectors output settings in accordance to the chosen background, further enhancing the clarity of the projected image.
Network Ready, the EW230U-ST also benefits from a built-in LAN (RJ-45) terminal for remote operation and when integrated with Crestron RoomView® users can operate up to 250 projectors simultaneously, with power on/off control and message display functionality. Furthermore for inspiring lessons and meetings, the EW230U-ST is 3D-ready when users input and display 3D content and watch the display with optional DLP Link-compatible 3D glasses.
Compact and weighing only 2.8kg the EW230U-ST is ultra portable and features a direct power off function allowing users to power down instantly without causing damage to the projector – perfect for those users with busy schedules. Mitsubishi continually look at new ways to reduce overall energy consumption – this new projector comes with up to 4000 hours lamp life and features a low standby mode, decreasing the overall cost of ownership. If users wish to mount the projector onto a ceiling, lamp replacements are simple with a top access loading area and the password lock feature protects the unit from any unauthorized usage.
Fraser McDonald, UK Sales Manager, said “Complementing our current range of WXGA projectors, the EW230U-ST is one of Mitsubishi’s most dynamic units, offering both a widescreen and short throw solution. The EW230U-ST also offers a range of high quality features like 3D Ready and networking capabilities that are unique in today’s market.”

Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems, a leading manufacturer of display solutions, has extended its range of slim bezel digital signage LCD displays and launched a new 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) 42” full HD display monitor. Complementing the MDT521S, the…
Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems, a leading manufacturer of display solutions, has extended its range of slim bezel digital signage LCD displays and launched a new 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) 42” full HD display monitor. Complementing the MDT521S, the new MDT421S comes fully featured and benefits from an advanced technological design, making it ideal for digital signage, message boards, video conferencing, retail kiosks, and broadcast displays.
Similarly to the MDT521S, the MDT421S is beautifully designed and benefits from an attractive 16mm aluminum bezel, available in either a black or silver option. The narrow bezel gives the monitor a sleek appearance and minimizes image distortion in tiled installations; a combination of 25 panels (5 wide x 5 high) can be installed in one configuration to create a large format image or a variety of smaller high impact displays. For flexible installation the MDT421S provides both landscape and portrait display setting modes, suitable for areas that require either tall or wide applications.
Utilizing the latest colour enhancing technologies, the MDT421S provides eye-catching displays; it also benefits from 700cd/m² of brightness, a contrast ratio of 1100:1 and a 6 axis colour adjustment function. In addition, the Pip,Pop and Side-by-Side functions allow the display of simultaneous images, while the multi-level screen saver reduces image persistence and maximizes the LCD’s service life.
Designed for digital signage applications where lighting conditions are constantly changing, the MDT421S comes built with an automatic brightness control that utilises both front and rear ambient light sensors. The sensors gather data on the lighting conditions, while the brightness control function interprets the data to make automatic changes to the LCD’s brightness in accordance to the installation environment. This function not only optimises viewing, but also reduces power consumption and overall running costs.
As an optional upgrade the MDT421S can be fitted with a CAT5 input connector, enabling the connection of much longer cables and reducing the amount of components needed for streamline installations. Compatible with both video and RS-485 serial-control signals, the CAT5 cable eliminates the need for a separate serial-control cable and can link up to five monitors in daisy-chain effect, making content delivery simple and efficient.
Fraser McDonald, UK Sales Manager, said “Our slim bezel LCD’s are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they also offer a versatile range of functions which makes them the perfect solution for digital signage. Both the MDT421S and MDT521S provide the latest technological features and maintain Mitsubishi’s promise towards more energy efficient products.”
