Mitsubishi Electric Introduces the New HD Home Cinema Projector – HC5500

Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems division, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high quality, high definition presentation and display products, has introduced the new HC5500, full HD home cinema projector. Replacing the HC4900, the advanced HC5500 features a resolution of 1920 x 1080, offering high quality viewing at competitive prices.

Designed specifically for home cinema enthusiasts, the HC5500 features a high performance HQV™ chip (from Silicon Optix), enhancing the imaging process even with standard DVD’s. With vertical expansion and horizontal compression the HC5500 has two anamorphic setting modes, enabling the projected image to extend to the edge of the picture.

The HC5500 has a brightness of 1200 ANSI lumens and uses an advanced automatic iris function to achieve a contrast ratio of 14,000:1. The automatic iris function responds quickly to black-to-light image shifts, improving sharpness and guaranteeing an overall high quality detailed image.

With up to 5000 hours of operating lamp life, running costs and maintenance are kept to a minimum. The HC5500 features a side access lamp that has been designed to make lamp changes quick and easy, even when the unit is ceiling mounted; and the projector also benefits from powered focus and zoom.

The HC5500 is ideal for the home, with an operating noise of just 19dB for undisrupted viewing. The new and stylish black chassis has a sleek and modernised appearance, making it an eye catching addition to any home.

Fraser McDonald, UK Sales Manager, said ‘We are pleased to announce the release of our new home cinema projector. With advanced technological features, the HC5500 is a premium quality projector, available at an affordable price.’
