MITSUBISHI PRESENTS LATEST SHORT THROW PROJECTOR FOR EDUCATION THE XD500-ST!

Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems division, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high quality, presentation and display products, has introduced the new XD500-ST, an XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels), short throw projector for the education sector.

The new XD500-ST has been designed specifically for today’s modern classroom and can be placed close to a screen or interactive whiteboard and still achieve a large picture for inspiring lessons, with a 60inch diagonal image from as little as 33inches away!

Built with an advance video scaler the XD500-ST can smoothly display a compressed WXGA (1280 x 800) image despite having a native resolution of XGA. This compression and resolution feature allows users to get the best of both worlds, giving full support to 4:3 computers while showing newer, wide-screen images easily and accurately. Furthermore, separate audio inputs for computer and video, dual computer inputs and a monitor loop provide flexible installation options, as well as an RS-232 interface for remote projector management.

The new XD500-ST strengthens Mitsubishi’s XD500 series of business and education projectors, and benefits from 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness and 2500:1 contrast ratio ensuring the reproduction of bright and accurate images.

Designed as a portable, cost effective projector that is easy to set up and use the XD500-ST benefits from enhanced security features such as a password lock and reinforced anchor bars as well as a top-access lamp cover for easy lamp replacement, even when ceiling mounted. The instant shutdown feature allows users to quickly power down the unit after a presentation without causing damage to the projector or lamp, in addition to a filter free design that helps reduce the risk of dirt or dust particles entering the projector.

The colour wall support function enables users to choose from a variety of surface colours (beige, blue, green, pink, blackboard or the new whiteboard setting) enabling the projector to automatically make adjustments to its output settings to create the best images in accordance to the chosen background.

To further enhance the colour projected, Mitsubishi Electric has developed a 6-segment colour wheel (R,G,B,W,Y,C) to display a wider colour spectrum. Instead of the usual red, green, blue and white, additional colours yellow and cyan have been added to reinforce the colour range, designed to suit an array of applications.

Fraser McDonald, UK Sales Manager, said “Mitsubishi has for a number of years been a major supplier into the education market place and we are continually listening to our customers needs to make every effort to keep up with the market trends in technology. The XD500-ST is our first short throw offering and will ensure that teachers and lecturers can focus on the lesson, whilst students aren’t distracted by shadows on the screen or interactive whiteboard”.
